Northern Journal - Anchorage Press subscriber FAQ

Northern Journal - Anchorage Press subscriber FAQ

As of June 2026, Northern Journal is being folded into the Anchorage Press over the next few months. Read the details here.

For people who are already paid subscribers to Northern Journal, we've given some serious thought to how we will handle your subscription, and the details are below. Any questions? Reach me, Northern Journal Publisher Nat Herz, at nat@northernjournal.com.

First off, I want to be clear that there's no commitment by Northern Journal subscribers to support the Anchorage Press: If you want your subscription canceled or not to be renewed, you can do that at any time from your member page on Northern Journal. You can also request a cancelation, and a pro-rated refund, directly from me — I'm at nat[at]northernjournal[dot]com.

That said, we hope and assume that most of you won't want to do that — that instead, you'll want to support the Anchorage Press, because we'll be doing the same kind of journalism as Northern Journal, just more of it.

As such, we're planning to transfer Northern Journal's subscribers, and subscription renewals, over to the Anchorage Press in the next few months.

For now, autorenewals will continue to process through Northern Journal's payment platform. Active Northern Journal subscribers, when we fully launch the Anchorage Press in the fall, will become Press subscribers.

As always: Your autorenewal won't be processed until several days after you receive a reminder email notifying you of the impending charge on your credit card. That won't change even once we migrate your subscription to the Anchorage Press.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please reach out to me at the email above. I'm incredibly grateful for the support of paid subscribers over the past few years, and I hope you will stick around for the next step.
